How to fill a cartridge

  • Gather your supplies

    1. Room temperature insulin
    2. Cartridge set
    3. Alcohol wipe

  • Prepare Cartridge

    Complete steps before attaching vial.

    1. Pull fill rod down.
    2. Push fill rod back up completely.
    3. Pull fill rod down to desired volume.

  • Attach Insulin Vial

    1. Place insulin vial on a flat surface.
    2. Push vial adapter down onto vial.

  • Fill Cartridge

    1. Push fill rod down to force all air into vial and maintain pressure.
    2. Turn set upside down.
    3. Slowly pull fill rod back to desired volume.

  • Remove Insulin Vial

    1. Pull vial out from vial adapter.

  • Inspect for Air

    Air takes space where insulin should be and can affect insulin delivery.

    1. Check all sides of cartridge for air.

  • Remove Air

    1. Hold upright and tap so air rises to top.
    2. Slowly push air up and out of cartridge.
    3. Repeat as needed.

  • Remove Cartridge from Set

    1. Unscrew fill rod.
    2. Press tab to release cartridge.
    3. Unscrew vial adapter.
